Many private individuals from Simpelveld have taken in refugees from the Ukraine. A considerable space in the monastery has also been cleared and made available for reception. In the meantime two refugees have already found work with our transformation project. They help with the renovation of the monastery.
To have a nice gathering and give some strength and comfort to the refugees and all those involved with helping them, the monastery chapel opened its doors on the 4th of June. All attendees were treated to a mandolin concert and a barbecue. It was a wonderful gathering.
HERMON Heritage is pleased to have been able to do something special in this way for the refugees and the volunteers involved.
